All Hail, Opening Day
The Major League Baseball season got into full swing today, and it’s good to have my old friend baseball back. I even timed lunch well enough to be sitting in front of the TV munching on a sandwich when Edgar Renteria put a really poorly thrown pitch into the center-right field stands in Philadelphia to put the Brave’s ahead in the top of the 10th to secure an opening day victory.
Having some vacation time I need to use, I’ve opt to take the Friday and Monday of Easter weekend off, with the idea to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Spring Break ’87″ (more on that to follow). As luck would have it, Yo La Tengo is playing at Tipitina’s in NO on Thursday night. With no work on Friday, I’m psyched to kick off my mini Spring Break with a show in New Orleans, which is something I haven’t done in a while. So let’s see how the old man handles a taste of Spring Break, having been out of practice for a number of years.
