Well, due to some misreading on my part I never made it to that Dirty Projectors show on Saturday night because…it was on Friday. Oops. But, that was only a small hiccup in a weekend already full of social activities, so no big harm was done (though I did hear through Wgo that Alex thought it was a good show). (more…)
Well folks it’s that time of year again. I’m a huge baseball fan, but anyone who still calls baseball the “National Past-time†has got it wrong. Or maybe it is still the national past-time and football is the “National Sports Obsession.†Either way, the waiting is over, the season is here, and I’m as excited as can be. (more…)

Baton Rouge residents, along with Tiger fans around the world, are saddened today to learn of the death of Mike V, LSU’s tiger mascot. It’s been odd, the mornings having turned murky as of this last Sunday. I must have assumed that dialing up the clock an hour somehow also ratcheted the Earth’s slant also, and the end of daylight savings a little early would echo the usual switch on each end of the scale.
