"…and not for five minutes will I be distracted from the wonder…"

comes a time when you’re traveling…

a picture perfect morning for a drive up 55, the autumn light golden on dying grass as well as on the goldenrod running the fence-lines and the trees trying to hold on to that last bit of summer green…

while driving i pondered that fall and spring are polite and permissive seasons…they do their work and are happy to move on and let winter/summer do their thing…winter and summer are a bit more ornery…you can feel them trying to hang on for one more day or week…their passing is slow, passively violent…but inevitable…

i was so captivated by the lunacy of last night’s cubs/marlins game that i didn’t even know of the fireworks televised live right here in ms…

a busy week coming up…off to new orleans tomorrow to see runyan and friends at the plone conference at tulane…on a plane for up-state new york on friday morning for a visit with dad’s side of the family for a couple of days…we don’t get together very often so i look forward to the chance to visit with cousins, aunts, uncles, and my grandparents…plus i’ve never been to up-state ny (it’s COLD up there!!) so i’m definitely looking forward to new sights, sounds, smells, and photo opportunities…

with the weather becoming colder the specter of the fall meeting of the copiah-lincoln gun and dinner club looms ever larger…more to come on that…
