"…and not for five minutes will I be distracted from the wonder…"

the last night of the fair…

some quick notes while i can tear myself away from staring at many many lines of code…rewriting old scripts from when i was just learning asp and it’s harder than starting from scratch 😛

had a nice weekend in the city, aside from lsu losing…worked saturday, and then went to the fair with susan, pace, sam, and mitch…was a beautiful evening to be outside…interesting how so many meaningless, cheap plastic things can engage and delight even the oldest person…

i had my my obligatory polish sausage dog…probably rode rides too soon after eating it but didn’t rawlf on anyone…road ‘big ben’ which was ho-hum and ‘the fireball’ which kicked ass…big arm swinging you left->right while you’re being spun at the same time…got a little woozy while trying to look through the camera viewfinder on the apex of a swing…switched to the lcd display and managed not to drop my camera through the whole thing…

we headed to the beer tent and had a fine time sipping watered down suds and watching people at the fair…that’s worth the ticket price in itself…ran into jeff sebold and his lady friend deidrich and had a fine time talking to them…at one point saw a teenage black girl walking by with a blow-up plastic baseball bat monikered with the confederate flag…i didn’t/don’t know quite what to make of that…saw enough cute girls competing in the rodeo to decide that a woman wearing spurs is sexy…ouch…

we wandered a bit more and road the ferris wheel, then headed for lori and tina’s for dinner…lori cooked a tasty meal, complete with some delicious zucchini bread for dessert…sat around on the back porch for a bit then headed over to bronson’s house…amy and matt were there, erika was away at a bachelorette party at ‘the dock’ …we brought beer and stayed til 2 being silly, listening to tunes, and playing with the always dear sue and murdoch (the bronson’s children/dogs)…

we headed back to lori and tina’s and i fell asleep on the couch watching labyrinth…

next day took bud for a walk with canada on a nice, cool, belhaven morning…ate 3 cheese quiche at broad street with lori and stopped by the store to finalize fantasy football line ups and rap with bronson and amy…

watched an afternoon’s worth of football at the forum with pace, canada, and pace’s dad…the saints beat the bears, proving even a blind squirrel finds an occasional nut…pace’s redskins couldn’t hang on with the bucs…were some exciting finishes between the packers/chiefs and colts/panthers…i’m on the carolina bandwagon even if baby blue is one of their dominant colors…mr. pace works as an attorney with the state legislature and says the election is only the first political firestorm coming soon to ms…once whoever wins is in office, then it really gets fun…

dropped canada off at the pink palace and headed back to brookhaven for some recuperation…so much fun, so little sleep

have done lots o’ work on the site this week…you can now drop comments on articles, photos, picture galleries…feel free to do so, don’t be shy…also finally figured out fireworks scripting enough to add frames to all photos in batch…i think it dresses them up nicely…

back to the 1’s/0’s…
