donna ladd over @ the jfp just emailed to say that joanne morris informed her that spit mcghee, her and willie morris’ cat made famous by willie’s book, my cat spit mcghee, has died (5 years and a day after willie’s own death)…one of my favorite ‘willie memories’ was going to his and joanne’s house on broadmoor here in jackson to interview willie for a high school term paper and getting to watch richard nixon’s funeral with willie, joanne, and spit…willie seemed to know everyone in attendance, and spit didn’t seem to give a damn about it…so long spit…hope you and willie are out for a drive right now…

also, legendary photographer henri cartier-bresson died today…he took many an incredible photo and always spoke eloquently about his craft…my favorite quote of his that you won’t see on the linked quotes: ‘the camera is the clock for seeing’…
