…going on in and around my particular world these days:
- Gorjus over at PrettyFakes has, after much hustle and toil, got the fifth edition of the Sandusky Review almost ready for the real world.
- Southdowns, the neighborhood where I live in Baton Rouge is seeing an explosion of new, (and thankfully) local businesses owned by some really cool people who take their commitment to the area seriously. I’m a particular fan of the 1699 Salon, which, being so much more than a place to get a haircut, has quickly come a community hub for me and a few friends to get together, drink coffee or booze, depending on the time of day, and get in a good conversation while listening to a few tunes. I’ve been helping them out with some photography and just put live a little website for them. Might I humbly suggest you give them your business.
- I’m knee deep in the development of the new CultureCandy website. CovalentLogic did the graphic design and layout and I’m plugging in all the data. I think it will be a big improvement over the current site and hopefully contribute more fully to the arts community in and around Baton Rouge.
- Tomorrow I ride in my first ever parade, the St. Patrick’s Day one here in Baton Rouge, somehow having been allowed to be Irish for a day. I’ve been delegated to make 100 Jell-O shots to supply the float with. Gelatin drinks are actually a legitimate avenue of craft mixology, so I’m looking forward to my education on the matter. Pondering if I can whip up a Jameson, ginger & lemon Jell-O shot.
I have six months worth of pictures to put on Flickr. Hoping that I get the chance to tackle that sooner than later. If I can get caught up on digital housekeeping then AW updates stand to occur much more frequently.
